Zoom In Help Information
The Mandlebrot set is infinite in
detail. Inside any "interesting"
picture, there are an infinite
number of other "interesting"
pictures waiting to be generated.
When MandelVroom first starts up, it
begins by generating a picture of
the entire Mandelbrot set. All the
Mandelbrot pictures you have ever
seen exist somewhere within this
picture.
You can select a region within a
given picture as the basis for your
next picture by using a tool called
the Zoom Box.
When you select small regions within
a picture as the region for your
next picture, you are zooming in.
If you were looking at a given
picture using a zoom lens, you can
think of zooming in as increasing
the magnification factor of the lens.
These are the steps to zooming in:
1. Open a new project using the
New Project menu item.
2. Pull down the In subitem of the
Zoom menu item, or press the
"I" button in the right margin
of your new project.
3. Place the mouse cursor over
where you want the upper left
hand corner of the Zoom Box,
and press and hold the left
mouse button.
4. While holding down the left
mouse button, slide the mouse
down and to the right.
5. Once the Zoom Box is the
desired size, release the left
mouse button.
Once you have placed the Zoom Box,
you must start generating the
picture to complete the zoom in
process.
ZOOM BOX OPERATION
The Zoom Box is a rectangular box
that you can move around in a
picture. Once it is opened, the
Zoom Box looks like this:
